What is the Latest Update on the Camp?

WOW! If you haven't been to Crystal Springs Camp in a few months, or even a few weeks, you will be surprised at the changes. This is an AWESOME camp ground! A special thank you goes out to every volunteer who worked hard this summer. Check out our before and after photoshere.

What are the accomplishments so far?
All buildings have new windows, doors, steps, ramps, landings, and lighting
Some buildings have new decks and porches
New flooring, cabinets, workstations, washstations and pantry in the cookhouse
All buildings have fresh stain
Concrete footing and foundation supports added to several buildings
Excavation around most buildings to prevent damage from winter run-off
Freshly stained and repaired bunks
The ball field is graded and the volleyball court is ready for sand
Rebuilt stone firepit
Clearing and thinning of trees and under brush is completed to help prevent fires
A new shower house
Removed all wood stoves no longer certified
Lots of interior design such as new curtains, cornices and other decor items
Some great landscaping projects

What remains to be completed?
Install hand washing stations
Stock nurses station with supplies
Stainless steel on new counter tops in cookhouse
Complete serving island in cookhouse
Formica on tables in cookhouse
Inside window trim to cookhouse and chapel
No-skid surfaces on ramps
Handrails on steps, ramps and landings for 2 cabins and the back of the chapel
A door to one cabin
Electrical posts and outlets in the RV area
Some touch-up stain to a few steps and railings
Check and/or replace fire extinguishers, smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors

Camp is closed for the winter but we will be gathering supplies and working on decoration projects through April in preparation for completion in the Spring of 2011.
